A November Record

What a month November has been in Boston. I got my first set of teeth, celebrated my first Thanksgiving, became reacquainted with my Uncle Andrew, Aunt Lauren and Great Uncles Bob and Howard, and the last day of the month both set a record for high temperature (69 degrees, as you can see below) and beat the temperature in LA without any smog. Amazing. Meanwhile, I have been working on my smile and frown, as you can tell from the pictures below.

Things have settled down nicely after the holiday. I have returned to my "good" overnight sleep schedule, although still give Mommy a run for her money during the daytime hours. Wednesday was particularly nice when Mommy, Daddy and I all went out for Thai-Cambodian food -- I hung out in my car seat-high chair thingy for an hour just looking around keeping myself occupied. So many new things to see in a Thai-Cambodia restaurant with high ceilings. Who would have thought! Can't wait for Hanukkah!!

Love and miss everyone. Hugs and kisses to everyone. XOXOXOXOXO.

Happy Turkey Day

We had a nice Thanksgiving celebration with all of our Boston family the other day. I was a bit fussy with my new teeth and all, so Daddy didn't have the chance to take too many pictures (in fact, we spent most of dinner time in the car on the highway catching a nap). There are plenty of photos from November on the latest Smugmug gallery, though. Enjoy! Happy holidays. Love, Tyler. XOXOXOXOXOXO.

Adventures in Teething

The rest of our time in Chicago was nice. I still had the bathroom to myself for sleep, but I "inherited" a pack-n-play which kept me off the ground for the rest of the trip. Mommy and Daddy even had their first "date night" since I came along, when Grandma & Grandpa Jo and David babysat for me (while I slept) while Mommy and Daddy went out for dinner. Rumor has it they even "tried" an alcoholic drink or two over dinner and dessert. I am glad they were able to go out alone for a bit.

Before my Minnesota grandparents left for home, we ate breakfast out at the famous Lou Mitchells and went all the way up to the top of the Sears Tower. I can officially say I have been higher up in the sky (in less than four months of life) than Daddy has because he was at a conference that day. Then Mommy and I got to check out Millennium Park which has this cool reflective "egg thing," which we photographed in fun ways. Look for us in the reflections!!

When we returned to Boston (I won't discuss the return flight in public, lets just say that I didn't make friends with everyone in my row), I picked up right where I left off. I am learning to sleep better now, having taken between 9 and 12 hour sleeps -- with only one break in the middle -- since we made our way back to JP. But....and this is a BIG but....I already have two bottom front teeth that have come in. Let me tell you that this is quite fun for Mommy and Daddy. All I want to do is teethe but I'm not quite old enough yet to figure out how to get the toys in my mouth to teethe on. Oh well...as you can see in the photos...I have figured out how to get my hand and fingers in my mouth. Gotta start somewhere. And lastly, but not leastly, I have found my feet. And I love my feet. Enjoy the photos.

Can't wait for my first Turkey Day this week. Go Wolverines today!!! Love and miss everybody. XOXOXOXOXOXO.

Shedd Aquarium and the Dolphins

We had an awesome and busy day in Chicago today. Cold and windy outside, but warm and "wet" inside. Grandpa David and Grandma Jo took Mommy, Daddy and me to the Shedd Aquarium for the day (the world's second largest indoor aquarium, for those keeping track). We saw many exhibits, including a Caribbean Reef, the sharks, dolphins, Beluga whales (including a three and a half month old calf, still awaiting a name) and many many more animals. Fun for all! And we even explored the CTA (Chicago Transportation Authority) by riding the bus to and from the hotel. Better than the T in my opinion. Here are the photos:

I think they should name the new Beluga calf "Tyler." A very wholesome name. Look forward to sharing tomorrow's adventures soon. Love to all. XOXOXOXOXO.

From Beantown to The Windy City

We left Boston on American Airlines at 8:40 AM yesterday, after leaving the house in "Mommy planning" style at 6 AM. It worked, as we beat all of the traffic, both in the taxi and in the security line. The flight was pretty easy, now that I am a regular flyer and can compare it to something. I slept for much of the flight and made friends with "older" passengers the rest of the time.

When we got to Chicago, it was cold and windy, but not wet. We had a marvelous lunch at Berghoff's (Mommy and Daddy has sandwiches with English-style chips and I ate breast milk) and then toured the Chicago Public Library -- cool architecture. The hotel was ready for us after that, so we checked in and explored our room. I found the club chair and settled in.

Then the rain came. We had to get dinner and the hotel restaurant looked like a good option (both because the menu looked good and there was a direct rain-free connection with the hotel), but we quickly learned that this is the "Friday Night After Work in the Financial District Hot Spot." So it was either stand and drink a liquid dinner with the masses (might have worked for me, actually) or find an alternative location. And did I mention it was pouring (maybe they should call it The Rainy & Windy City). So Daddy ran out and got drinks at Wallgreens and food at The Italian Village (interestingly, running continuously with the same family ownership since 1927, and Chicago's oldest Italian restaurant). He came back wet and with good food, that was still warm, too. Mommy and Daddy ate and then we all went to bed, at 8 PM Chicago time, with the 'folks on the bed and me on the floor. I don't want to talk about it.

We slept for the evening and now we're set to explore the city, before Daddy's conference starts on Sunday. Ta ta for now.

Love everybody. If you have recommendations for things to do in Chi Town, please send them along. Hugs and kisses. XOXOXOXOXO.
