Corn Husking Season...

Since it is now officially summer time, we decided to have a nice summer cookout the other night. Although corn prices are going up, our local supermarket had a 3/$.99 special, so we went for it. I got to husk all the ears of corn. Who needs clothes for that!!

Love you and miss you. Tyler. XOXOXOXOXOXO.

The Arb

We woke up on Saturday and couldn't decide what to do. We typically head out the the Farmer's Market, but our fridge was already stocked. So we all just hopped into the car (yes, I was in my car seat) and started driving. Mommy had the brilliant idea to go check out the Arboretum (located right next to the medical center, run by the University of Michigan) -- something which we had talked about doing for a year and just never bothered to do. It was easy on gas since it is about three minutes from our house. Well, the place is amazing. We all just felt bad that we have been here for a year and never really stumbled upon the place. Check out the pictures...we will definitely be back soon for a lunch time picnic!

The entrance to "The Arb" (located on the far end of the parking lot that Daddy parks in everyday for work!)

The Pionese Garden

TSG leading the way down one of the many trails (aren't my Crocs the perfect exploring shoes?)

The view when the trail opened up -- we were all stunned that we had never been here before!

Yes, I was excited!

Although Daddy tries not to teach me how to throw rocks when we are at home, he said learning to "skip" them on water is perfectly fine. Mommy, there are puddles in the driveway at home all the time...

Happiness.

Happiness. From a different angle.

The feet got hot!

If you squint, you will see a deer. There were three deer playing for twenty minutes or so, just on the other side of the river. Incredible!

This is the other site we saw. This poor mother (although it was really the daughter up front who I felt bad for) got the canoe stuck on a rock and spent about 10 minutes trying to get free, all the while rotating the canoe on an axis (her bum) and taking on significant water at various points. Daddy wanted to video the experience but Mommy got mad at him.

That's all for today.

Love you so much. Tyler G. XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXO. P.S. Can't wait to be back in Boston for a while in July!!!

Father's Day 2008

Last week was the first time I could celebrate Father's Day with my Daddy -- last year he was in Ann Arbor buying our house, if you recall. So Mommy and I had lots in store for this year's big day. We cooked an awesome breakfast, then exchanged a few gifts, and then headed off to Gallup Park to go canoing on the river. We had an absolute blast in the canoe; I lasted a full 50 minutes (besting last year's time on the paddle boat by 35 minutes or so) and enjoyed every second. I even helped paddle. The weather was gorgeous and the park was very cool. I love you Daddy!

Daddy wants me to let everyone know that he had not showered for the day yet...

I must say that, although turkey bacon tastes very good, it just does not look the same as the real thing.

Crocs and a lifejacket. The new "supercool."

"Why do I have to sit on the blue thingy that's all wet, while you guys get real seats?"

Tyler the explorer!

Summertime Video Montage

Daddy time!

I will post pictures from our awesome Father's Day soon, but for now, enjoy the pictures from the weekend before. We just sort of hung around, played on the computer, enjoyed the outdoors, made great pancakes for breakfast (Go Mommy!) and had a ball together.
